Ashley Pittman fell in love with the East African landscape and the people she met there while working for the Clinton Foundation's HIV/AIDS Initiative in Rwanda. It was here the idea for a jewelry line was born. She searched for many months for skilled artisans and the appropriate infrastructure to complete her vision of horned jewelry design and production.

The Ashley Pittman Collection strives to combine the craftsmanship of many Kenyan artisans and exclusively uses indigenous materials such as horn, bronze, and semi-precious stones mined in East Africa.

Ashley Pittman works closely with their partner artisans in Kenya to ensure that all people involved in the manufacturing process are paid a fair and living wage. In selecting artisan groups they look not only for groups which have fantastic product, but also vulnerable groups which are in need of the market and sustainable business that Ashley Pittman Collection can provide.
